Originally built in 1986 by Malcolm Forbes, the Highlander super yacht once trawled the East Coast of the USA as a corporate yacht for Forbes Magazine. It boasts an A-list of previous guests including Ronald Reagan, Sir Paul McCartney, Robert de Niro and Sir Mick Jagger.
 
But the Highlander has now entered a new chapter of its illustrious lifetime after being acquired by Roberto de Guardiola. It is now available to charter across the Mediterranean for £128,000 a week through Edmiston. 
 
It was once painted green – the colour of money – and the centre piece of Malcolm Forbes’ lavish spending on entertainment, which has included a £1m 70^th birthday party where 1000 guests were flown to Tangier.
 
Now guests will find it slightly more reserved following its comprehensive refit where the interior was modernised and hull lengthened. At 162 feet, the yacht can accommodate 12 guests and 11 crew members, featuring a Jacuzzi, gym, helipad, assorted skis, kayaks and snorkelling gear and more than enough space for entertaining.
 
There is no doubt that the Highlander is the ultimate glamour status symbol, from its illustrious past hosting the world’s most powerful people to its now updated features, just let your bank manager know before you go ahead and charter it.
