Treat Your Client with the Biggest Sporting Events

By James Drakeford

Whether you lavish your client with gifts, treat them to a business lunch, or take them to a global event – there is absolutely nothing more important in business than building solid client relationships.   Amongst the most luxurious and memorable options would be to entertain them with a day trip to a sporting event.

While you could get away with the lazy trips to Wembley or sipping champagne at Twickenham, we have the answer for those big occasions where you really need to pull out all of the stops.

Super Bowl XLVII

The Super Bowl is more than just a sporting event – it is a spectacle.  That is why over 110million viewers in the United States alone tune in each February to see who will be crowned NFL champions.  While the profile of the American sport is still developing in the UK, the occasion is growing rapidly and now pubs are staying open late and five million viewers are tuning in to embrace the glitz and glamour.

Whether your client can spot the Quarterback from the Wide Receiver is completely irrelevant, because the halftime show itself has become a main draw of its own.  In recent years high-profile pop acts performing here include Paul McCartney, U2, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Madonna.

The Hollywood A-lister’s were out in force for this year’s event with Katy Perry, Maria Menounos and Lenny Kravitz spotted in the crowd, while Seal and Adam Sandler were amongst those that ran onto the pitch to celebrate at the end of the game.

Tickets for next year’s event taking place at New Orleans’ Louisiana Superdome are already on sale.  To brush shoulders with the stars and really impress your client, why not book the $550,000 suite on the 40-50 Yard Line via the Super Bowl Tickets website.

Monaco Grand Prix

Here at Corporate Livewire our love for the Monaco Grand Prix has already been noted by our feature on Essential Events and Festivals for 2012, and while we feel it is a tad lazy to cover the same thing twice – the magnitude of the event is such that we simply could not leave it out.

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most prestigious events in the sporting calendar and is attended by the royal, the rich and the famous with last year’s guests including Nicole Scherzinger and P.Diddy, film director Quentin Tarantino, and supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Dazzle your client with helicopter transfers, private yacht parties, and even take a Ferrari 360 Spyder around the circuit by booking a full-works package and then enjoy the race itself from the Shangri La balcony at the luxury apartment building standing above the starting grid.  With a gourmet lunch and a complimentary bar accompanying the panoramic view of Monaco Harbour and the Mediterranean beyond – even the most casual of motor racing fans would be thrilled beyond belief.

European Championship Finals

Every two years the summer starts with the crosses of St. George draping from bedroom windows and The Lightning Seeds song Three Lions hitting the airwaves, prior to the summer ending prematurely with each one of us bemoaning the humidity, a poor refereeing decision, or even the shape and weight of the ball (remember the jubulani?).  That’s right – why not provide your client with the emotional drama of the European Championship Finals.

Don’t waste your time with Krakow – where the England national team will be based for the summer – instead, get yourself to the Ukraine capital city of Kiev where you can enjoy over 100 museums, 33 theatres, and watch the football with the Club Prestige Platinum Package.

The Platinum Package will give you a seat in the luxurious sky box at the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex for all three group games (including England v Sweden), the quarter final (which will undoubtedly mark England’s elimination), and the pinnacle event of the tournament – the final.  The package includes access to the private skybox from 3 hours before kick-off until 90 minutes after the final whistle, premium gourmet dining experience before, during and after the match, prime-quality wines and spirits, dedicated hostesses and service staff, welcome cocktails, exclusive club prestige gift, official match programme and a car parking pass.

Tickets are priced at £18,900 per seat, or alternatively you can purchase every seat in order to use it for your own private function. Tickets can be booked through the UEFA website.
