An Evening at Calico Jack’s Floating Bar

An Evening at Calico Jack’s Floating Bar

Bermuda’s pink sands, cerulean seas and beautiful tropical climate epitomise Caribbean paradise, but no Caribbean experience can truly be complete without an exploration of the region’s buccaneering history.  Enter Calico Jack’s Floating Bar, an intensely popular tourist attraction in Somerset Village which revels in the island’s links to the Caribbean’s privateering past.  Named after the legendary figure Calico Jack (whose jolly roger is the iconic skull and crossed swords design), the bar is an immense two deck, 75 foot long converted ferry adorned in pirate paraphernalia and locally crafted woodwork, guaranteed to give its patrons a taste of absolute freedom and festivity.

Set in the Royal Naval Dockyard, Calico Jack’s is open from 11am every day until the early hours of the morning, perfect for a refreshing afternoon cocktail or night of vigorous partying.  The ship is capable of holding up to 200 people, and possesses two bars and two separate decks to give patrons plenty of space to enjoy the wide array of drinks on offer.  Competitive drinks prices have made the bar extremely popular, as has the signature cocktail “Grog”, a fruity rum-based drink sure to get guests dancing.  Decked out with tourist-friendly amenities including a swimming platform behind the boat, TVs and a DJ area, Calico Jack’s is fully furnished to provide a great day or evening’s entertainment.  Replacing the shanty with traditional Caribbean rhythms (amongst other styles), Calico Jack’s Floating Bar is sure to sweep you away on a personal Pirates of the Caribbean experience
