During Monaco’s winter you’ll find a fabulous array of world-class events. Many are held at the world-famous Casino de Monte Carlo, which, along with its namesake, also houses the Grand Theatre de Monte Carlo, Monaco’s opera house. Here, you’ll find an ever-changing roster of wonderful performances.
 
After, head to the famed Café de Paris, located just across from the casino and enjoy a delicious meal on its sun-soaked terrace – an ideal spot for people watching in one of the world’s most glamorous locations, and, of course, for soaking up the warm Mediterranean winter sun.

Get into the festive spirit

No winter in the sun experience would be complete without getting into the festive spirit and Monaco in winter offers ample Christmas activities. Be sure to check out the fabulous Christmas Market at Port Hercule. This wonderful market embraces the magic of the festive season offering a wide range of stalls selling festive gifts, delicious regional specialities, along with rides and wonderful décor.

Isola 2000 is one of the most popular slopes near Monaco, located just a couple of hours drive away. Other popular spots include Auron, Limone Piemonte, and Valberg. Enjoy winter in the sun with a swim

The wonderful heated pool on the rooftop of the Fairmont Monte Carlo is the place to see and be seen, while the Monte-Carlo Beach resort is another popular option with visitors. Its Olympic-sized pool is heated to the ideal temperature of 27°C year-round, making it a wonderful location for a swim. Another popular resort is the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort which features a wonderful covered pool set amidst a tropical setting – ideal for inclement weather. The pool opens up onto a spectacular outdoor infinity pool heated to a balmy 28°C year-round.
