Explore New Tastes with ZaporeaZ

ZaporeaZ means “tasteful” in Basque – and with this in mind, Ana Gabriela Serra set out to create a company centred to EnoGastronomy, a pathway to discover the local culture through the art of good dining and drinking in the Basque Country and La Rioja region, north of Spain.
 
Of Italian and Brazilian heritage, Ana Gabriela graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Grossmont College, San Diego in 2010.  Just two short years later, she founded ZaporeaZ –inspired by an incredible glass of wine and the traditional pintxos of San Sebastian.  Ever since that moment, the EnoGastronomy of the Basque Country and La Rioja became her passion, and she dedicated herself to sharing unique and private experiences specially designed and tailored for lovers, enthusiastic and professionals of wine and gastronomy.
 
The EnoGastronomic culture of these region have their own history and there is nothing more authentic than to live a local experience “on site” to really discover it.  ZaporeaZ will show you their favourite places, many of them off the beaten path, and lead their visitors on bespoke routes. 
 
The Basque Country and La Rioja is where traditions and gastronomic culture coexist in harmony – Zaporeaz will organise everything that will need to undergo a true and unique EnoGastronomy experience that will inspire the senses. 
 
The ZaporeaZ Experience
 
ZaporeaZ offer a number of set gourmet and wine routes, allowing guests to enjoy their own personalised experience.  Each tour is private and is accompanied by a bi-lingual guide with private transportation and engaging activities designed to enable to visitors to truly interact with the gastronomic culture of northern Spain.
 
With routes focusing on La Rioja,txakoli (local white wine) and cider from the Basque Country, visitors will be able to discover century old wineries and cider houses and sample the delicious nectars for themselves.  The San Sebastián (European Capital of Culture 2016) routes are perfect for anyone who wishes to try the local speciality of pintxos.  The Harvest Time experience (offered in September and October in La Rioja), will take you amongst the grape vines, perfect time to harvest grapes and crush them underfoot as our ancestors did long ago.  Echoes of smiles fill the air in this unforgettable experience…
 
Personalised tours allow you to design your own adventure in wine tasting, cooking classes, culture and art history.  With the help of chefs and sommeliers native to the Basque and Rioja regions, they’ll increase your understanding of this fantastic destination in a way that is personal to you. 
Additionally, each tour can be enhanced with a number of trip extensions, such as hot air ballooning over La Rioja, boat trips, horse riding and other outdoor adventures.  ZaporaeZ can also organise reservations for restaurants and spas and arrange airport transfers and transportation throughout the Spanish and French Basque Country.
