With a fleet of three beautiful vessels and the services of a top catering team, Bordeaux River Cruise also organise trips, events and wine cruises through the greater Aquitaine region.  The beauty of the Gironde will unfold before you – encompassing stunning heritage, wondrous World Heritage Sites, world class cuisine and sublime wines.

The Fleet

At the heart of Bordeaux River Cruise’s operations is their restaurant vessel.  With the ability to carry and serve up to 300 passengers, the restaurant boat also features a stylish reception venue, two function rooms and a beautiful terrace – hire this vessel for private functions and business events steeped in luxury.

Passengers wishing to explore the stunning islands of the estuary can do so in the lavish comfort provided by the Sardana.  This former maritime vessel seats up to 75 passengers; the indoor bar – which hosts wine tastings and serves appetisers– seats up to 50 guests at a time, whilst the outdoor terrace allows passengers to enjoy the beautiful views.  Since the Sardana joined the fleet in 2012 Bordeaux River Cruise have been in the position to offer themed trips and excursions between Garonne and Dordogne, encompassing the best sights of the Gironde Estuary.

The Silnet is a sleek and efficient ‘water taxi’, and this speedboat can carry up to 12 passengers at a time.  Based in Bordeaux, this boat enables quick and efficient transfers whilst ensuring the safety and comfort of all those on board; guests can relax on the heated seats and enjoy the views of the estuary as it speeds by.

Cruise Promenade

Whether you’re travelling as a family, in a group, or are undertaking a personal trip, Bordeaux River Cruise invites you to board their vessels and discover the estuary and islands of the Gironde, on their bespoke excursions.  Different walks are available in Bordeaux, Blaye and Pauillac; enjoy a cultural cruise stop over and discover something new.  Each cruise is managed by passionate sailors and guides recognised for their expertise in cultural and scientific excursions.

Cross the heart of the estuary and discover the magical Isle de Patiras.  Located around 25 miles north of Bordeaux, the privately owned island – only 2.5 miles in length – faces the historic marina town of Pauillac.  Legend has it that the island was once a notorious pirate lair; in the 19th Century Patiras was a necessary quarantine stopover for ships that wished to dock at various points in the estuary.  The island’s now famous lighthouse that dominates the tiny land mass is surrounded by verdant vine and maze fields.

Guests of Bordeaux River Cruise can discover the historic charms of Isle de Patiras for themselves; enjoy a guided walk along the shores and climb to the top of the lighthouse for sublime panoramic views of the Medoc Castle and the Blaye Marshes twinkling in the distance.
