Making the most of the St. Moritz lifestyle

Making the most of the St. Moritz lifestyle

St. Moritz has long been the gathering place for the most prosperous and eminent, and its lavish restaurants, shops and bars reflect the luxurious lifestyle of those who frequent here. The glitzy clientele of St. Moritz are well catered for, as the resort boasts an impressive amount of gourmet and chic restaurants, boutiques containing the most renowned designers in the world, and bars that feature the most eminent DJs and where high quality spirits purchased by the bottle.

With its annual Gourmet Festival, St. Moritz holds its cuisine in high regard. St. Moritz has a copious amount of distinguished dining rooms, refined restaurants, the latest lounges and cosy cafés, all providing the ultimate gastronomic finesse. Kulm Hotel’s gourmet ‘K’ restaurant mixes classic French cuisine with ingredients specially selected by Chef Hans Nussbaumer in an intimate venue. Or head to one of St. Moritz’s more rustic eateries and sample traditional Engadin culinary specialities, such as capuns (small rolls of dough wrapped in chard and baked with cheese), plain in pigna (made with potatoes, polenta and salami) and Nusstorte (nut cake).

For shopping, St. Moritz has an incredible bounty of designer and boutique shops. Comparable to Madrid’s lavish fashion scene, St. Moritz is a microcosm of chic, cosmopolitan boutiques, where the world’s most distinguished designer brands are celebrated. Via Maistra and Via Serlas run perpendicular to one another and form the nucleus of the shopping district; here designer brands such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Omega, Polo Ralph Lauren, Chanel and Gucci can be found alongside local emerging designers. Shoppers can also find textiles, hand carved furniture, glass, ceramics, metalwork, champagne and handmade Swiss chocolate.

After a day on the slopes or in the shops, St Moritz’s nightlife provides the perfect platform from which to unwind and socialise. Characterised through its stylish bars, restaurants and casino, St Moritz truly thrives at night. Renowned celebrities and elite dwellers flock to the famous King’s Club nightclub in Badrutt’s Palace to watch night turn into day as they revel in the lively setting. For après-skiers, the Roo Bar at the Hauser’s Hotel is a gregarious way to warm up, with rum-laced hot chocolates and techno music creating the most rakish après-skiing after-party.
