Slovenia - The Perfect Getaway Destination for Nature Lovers

This little central European country, with a widely diverse setting, is the home of all kinds of natural wonders and its untouched beauty attracts more and more tourists each year.  Four major geographic regions meet in Slovenia – the Alps, the Dinaric area, the Pannonian Plain and the Mediterranean Sea - which luckily position the country into an ideal location that can satisfy all holiday tastes.

While Ljubljana and the Postojna Caves are still an important part of the tourism industry, the country’s northern parts are where the picturesque landscapes lie.  The mountains and rivers of the Julian Alps and of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps provide the perfect setting for winter lovers, the best season to truly take in the scenery that the Slovenian alpine region has to offer.  The biggest ski centre in the country is Mariborsko Pohortje which provides 100 guaranteed days of snow and fun.  Bled’s alpine resort, on the east side of Lake Bled, is also popular destination, -perhaps due to its close proximity to the only Slovenian National Park – Triglav National Park.

The north-eastern region pampers its visitors with numerous spa resorts, such as Rogaška Slatina, while Maribor, the country’s second largest town, is renowned for its wine-making and countryside cuisine.  However, Slovenia isn’t simply a paradise for lovers of the great outdoors – the country is also the perfect host for congress and gambling tourists. Slovenia is home to the highest percentage of casinos in the European Union, the most famous of them being Perla Casinos, ensuring visitors can enjoy hours of action, no matter their interests.
