Jeddah is the second largest city in Saudi Arabia, and it has been a historically important trading port for centuries. Over the years it has evolved into a very modern and friendly city, and with the advent of regular flights to Jeddah, a great place to visit. There are numerous interesting attractions in this city that will make a trip to Jeddah worthwhile.

Getting There

The city of Jeddah is accessed by the King Abdulaziz International Airport, which is well served by airlines all over the world and is the largest airport in the country.

Radisson Blu have two hotels in Jeddah both and are centrally located. The exquisite Royal Suite Jeddah Hotel and the five star Hotel Jeddah

Where to Visit

Balad

Located in the heart of Old Jeddah, this is an area filled with traditional Middle Eastern marketplaces. You can see almost anything you can imagine here, from sparkling gold and silver ornaments based on traditional African and Arabic designs, to colourful spices, exotic perfumes, handmade textiles and more. Set within the beautiful old architecture of this part of the city, Balad is a gorgeous setting for this exotic shopping experience.

Biet Nassif

This old house belonged to the Nassifs, a merchant clan who settled in Jeddah in the mid 1800s. Over the years many important historical figures have stayed here, including King Abdul Aziz ibn Saud who was the founder of Saudi Arabia. The Biet Nassif itself is a treasure trove of history, with a 700 year old flag mast and cannons from the 15th century. Anyone who is interested in history will love exploring this attraction.

Scuba Diving

Jeddah is a great location for scuba diving, and you will be able to see the spectacular underwater coral and fish species of the Red Sea without as many tourists as Egypt. There are many diving companies in Jeddah that will suit you up and get you ready to explore the world beneath the sea.

Sail Island

This is an artificial peninsula featuring a water park shaded by several huge sail-like tents. The sails offer relief from the blazing Saudi Arabian sun as you splash and frolic in the huge swimming pools and water slide facilities. It is a great place to cool down on a hot day.

The Floating Mosque

One of the most sacred sites in the city, this mosque is not actually floating but its position just next to the Red Sea gives than impression. Its gorgeous shimmering white architectural beauty is something to marvel at, and when you enter the building you can feel a very serene and peaceful ambiance. Not only is the Floating Mosque an important place of worship, it is also one of the important tourist attractions of Jeddah and is visited by many tourists from all over the world.
