The Ultimate Escape – İncirliev Hotel

The Ultimate Escape – İncirliev Hotel

Located in the historic Aegean village of Alaҫati, İncirliev Hotel blends the peaceful serenity of centuries old architecture with the stylish individuality of a modern hotel.

İncirliev conjures up dreams of summer days, hazy skies and sun ripened fruits.  A former abandoned house that had been tenderly renovated, the hotel is surrounded by a leafy garden of fragrant jasmine blossoms and mulberry, mandarin and lemon trees, and at its heart stands the gnarled fig tree from which the house is named.

Owned and run by the Poshor family, İncirliev is open to guests all year round.  The spring and autumn months are perfect for those who want to enjoy the beauty of Alaҫati in quiet solitude, whilst in the summer you can enjoy the best of what the town has to offer.  During the milder winter months spend your days curled up in an armchair before the open fire places, sipping on a luxuriant glass of local wine.  By providing a personal and attentive service, İncirliev will meet all of your expectations.

Discover Alaҫati

Even during the very busy summer months of Alaҫati, guests will find İncirliev to be a haven of peace.  The hotel is located just a short walk from the charming village centre; indulge in the antiques market, shops and restaurants that offer outstanding Aegean Turkish cuisine such as meze (finger foods)  and seafood.

The majority of the stone houses that line the narrow streets of Alaҫati are at least 100 years old; these single and two-storey stone houses are stunning examples of the traditional architecture that can be found around the Aegean Sea both in Turkey and Greece.  The town was ingeniously designed – the cobbled streets are laid out in line with the sea winds, with little exposure to the sun.

Alicati is located at the “narrow waist” of the Cesme peninsula; boasting some of the best sandy beaches found in the country, visitors can enjoy the golden sand dunes of Cliftikkoy or indulge in a spot of swimming or sunbathing at the renowned Aya Yorgi Bay.

Beyond the town lies Alaҫati Bay, offering aquamarine waters, long meandering sandy beaches and world class windsurfing conditions.  In the Alaҫati Port, located just south of the town, you will find the majority of the wind and kite surfing schools that offer extensive lessons out on the calm ocean, whilst to the west you will find an abundance of olive groves and vineyards; there is no better way to spend the warm evenings than strolling around the sweet-scented countryside in the fading light.

A Stay at İncirliev

The İncirliev boasts eight spacious rooms that exude personality and charm in abundance.  A further six rooms are found in a specially designed annex alongside the main house and two more are situated in the old house; individually furnished, guests can guarantee that no two visits would ever be the same.  Modern touches, including spacious en-suite bathrooms, complimentary toiletries, air conditioning and free WI-FI are seamlessly interwoven with authentic details and well thought out touches, such as intricate antiques, artworks and reclaimed fireplaces.  These rooms are designed to promote rest and tranquillity; they are light and airy, rustic and inviting.

The staff of İncirliev provide a variety of services to make your stay as pleasant and as stress free as possible.  A daily housekeeping service, along with a front desk (open 24 hours a day) can provide assistance at all hours of the day.  The hobby room offers a satellite TV and DVD player, along with a billiards table for guests to use at their leisure, whilst staff are happy to arrange a range of activities such as wind and kite surfing lessons, spa treatments and wine tasting evening.  İncirliev can also offer airport transfers and excursions of the local area, whilst the hotel is available for functional events and private parties – allowing guests to celebrate in decadent style.

Gastronomic Delights

The Poshor family are famous for their sumptuous breakfasts.  Guests can lounge outside, bathed in the fresh morning air and welcome in another day in paradise with a delicious meal prepared with only the freshest produce.  Sun matured jams, made by the head of the family, Osman Poshor, are considered a delicacy at İncirliev; there are over 30 sweet and zesty varieties on offer, made from local fruits ripened by the Aegean sun.  After carefully making your selection, enjoy it spread across baked goods fresh out of the oven – pock from an assortment of stone baked breaks, Turkish style sesame seed bagels, speciality pastries and pancakes that are served with ricotta cheese and melted butter.  If you’re in need of a little more nourishment, the breakfast table is laden with handpicked olives, a vast selection of local cheeses and ricottas, ruby red tomatoes, spicy green peppers, freshly picked fruits and fresh orange juice.

Each afternoon, a splendid tea is served with compliments of İncirliev.  As your busy day of exploring draws to a close and you make your way back to the hotel, laden with treasures from the market or invigorated from a kitesurfing lesson, the welcoming sight of homemade cakes, accompanied by freshly brewed tea and seasonal fruits, will surely remind you again why İncirliev is the best choice for those visiting Alaҫati this year.
