Things to do in Miami

Movie stars, singers and models – Miami is full of them.  Hyper-tanned celebrities rub oiled shoulders with hipsters in the sidewalk cafes, designer boutiques, lounge bars and dusk-til-dawn clubs.  With many famous residents, you are more likely to bump into a celebrity than not.

South Beach

If you are in the mood for drinking, dancing and all-night partying then you are in the right place – visit the celebrity haunts including the lavish LIV, the hip-hop Mansion and the exclusive Mynt Lounge.  Wind down the following day with a nice chill along the golden sands of Miami Beach where you are sure to catch a good surf waves and plenty of beach volleyball action should you wish.

Lincoln Road

You wouldn’t believe just how easy it is to spend a few thousand in a morning along the Lincoln Road.  With a vast array of chain and upscale retail stores, pick up items in vogue with the stars.  With palm trees lining the roads which are almost exclusively used by hundred thousand dollar convertibles, this is as glamorous as it gets.  Get your culture fix with a visit to the Art Centre where local and international artists develop and showcase their work in glass-walled studios then head to the popular Books & Books store to pick up a good book and grab a coffee.

Little Havana

Also known as the Latin Quarter, visit Little Havana for a taste of Cuba.  Many Cubans fled to Miami after Fidel Castro came to power in 1959 and you will find many restaurants and shops here that replicate the authenticity of a true Cuban home.  Marvel at the Mediterranean-style houses with rocking chairs on the porch, smell the tobacco wafting from cigar stores and hear the hum of Latin music from record stores along Calle Ocho.  Visit the Cuban Memorial Boulevard and see the many statues and monuments, including an eternal flame burning in memory of the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961.

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

With a fantastic collection of art exhibitions and museums it takes something special to stand out from the crowd.  That something special is Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.  The photogenic landscape has provided the setting for many films including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Any Given Sunday and Bad Boys II and is a popular spot for weddings and special events.  This National Historic Landmark is located right on top of the Biscayne Bay offering visitors a stroll through its extensive Italian Renaissance gardens, native woodland landscape and historic village outbuildings compound.  Tranquil beauty at its best.

Round Up

This tropical paradise has everything you need from sandy beaches, incredible nightlife and a splendid collection of sightseeing.  A trip to lavish and luxury Miami will certainly provide the A-lister experience.
