World Class Beaches of the Seychelles

Every single island in the Seychelles is surrounded by spectacular beaches.  If beautiful coastlines and stunning ocean views are something that you yearn for, then the Seychelles will certainly not disappoint.  You have been warned, however- once you step foot onto one of these glorious sandy stretches, it will be almost impossible to leave again.

Anse Source d’Argent

The beach where the sparkling blue ocean meets clear blue skies, where the green flora of the shore embraces the smooth granite rocks from the sea; at Anse Source d’Argent you will be surrounded by unforgettable scenery, making it a true sanctuary of tranquil beauty and peace.  Located in the North of La Digue, the beach is a long stretch of dazzling powdery sands, broken only by the huge granite boulders tumbling into the sea and surrounded by swaying palm trees.  Sheltered by the reef, the calm sea is ideal for playful paddling during those long, hot days.  It is also perfect for those who wish to snorkel, hunt for shrimp or scramble across the granite boulders.  Follow the twisting pathways that lead away from the main beach and discover hidden coves, separated by soaring rocks and secret caves.  The Anse Source d’Argent is reputedly one of the most photographed beaches in the world, so be sure to take your camera to snap away at your idyllic surroundings.

Anse Lazio

This popular beach is located on the northwest of the Praslin Island, and is half a mile of pure white sands, clusters of palm trees and clear, turquoise water, making it an extremely inviting destination for snorkelling.  Often described as the best beach on Praslin, Anse Lazio truly is a picture perfect location, and is considered paradise on earth by many beach lovers.  Sheltered and enclosed by the curve of the island, you will feel wonderfully secluded, as though you have discovered your own private haven.  If you’re feeling active, the wide beach is ideal for ball games or an impromptu volleyball match.  After exerting yourself, try one the palm thatched restaurants set up right on the sand, a great choice if you wish to sample the local favourites or freshly caught fish.  As Anse Lazio is northwest facing, it enjoys some extraordinary sunsets that you could never tire of, helping to cement its place as one of the top Seychelles beaches.

Beau Vallon

A magnificent crescent of lustrous white sand, bursting with takamaka trees and coconut palms located on the northwest coast of Mahe, this superb sandy stretch is the island’s most popular beach.  Even at its busiest, Beau Vallon retains its relaxed atmosphere and unspoilt beauty.  With an area marked out specifically for swimmers that is patrolled by lifeguards, Beau Vallon ranks amongst the best places for a safe and stress free swim.  If you’re not content with swimming or sunbathing, try your hand at parasailing, snorkelling, diving or sailing.  Beau Valley is also the only place in the Seychelles where motorised water sports are authorised.  The beach also offers a selection of beach restaurants that are very popular with both tourists and locals alike, and each afternoon local fishermen and farmers flock to the shore to tempt you with their fresh produce.  Across the bay you can make out Silhouette Island and North Island, and you can guarantee that the sunsets behind these islands are more than mesmerising.
