The World's Most Relaxing Hotel?

The World's Most Relaxing Hotel?

This incredible eco-hotel, which looks like a fancy sandcastle, has no electrcity and only allows mobiles inside the bedrooms.

The Adrère Amellal, near Siwa in Egypt, is made entirely from traditional materials such as salt-rock and palm leaves - designed to make the hotel blend into its desert surrounding.

Despite the lack of electricity, guests will still be able to see their swanky rooms, which start at £460-a-night, thanks to torches, beeswax candles and stars which help to illuminate the 40-room resort.

Famous faces to stay at the Adrère Amellal include Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, who booked into the £1,420-a-night Royal Desert Room.

The hotel is just 16km away from Siwa, an ancient city famous for being home to the Oracle of Amon, an Egyptian God.

The city, populated by descendants of the Berbers, is surrounded by seven stunning salt lakes including Al Zaytun which is 25km long.

A spokesman for the hotel said: "All our furniture and accessories pay tribute to the talented artisanship of the Siwan people."
