The Game Fair Launch Fishing Strategy at the London Fly

The Game Fair team are joining many other exhibitors at the first London Fly Fishing Fair to be held on 10th & 11th March at the Business Design Centre in London.

The London Fly Fishing Fair is fast approaching. With just over two weeks until the Business Design Centre opens its doors to the capital’s first annual fly fishing event, founders John and Fergus Kelley look forward to welcoming fishing enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The major attractions will be the indoor casting pool, together with amazing displays from some of the world’s best fly fishers and personalities, including Charles Jardine, Hywel Morgan and Matt Hayes, as well as Marina Gibson and James Stokoe. There will be a fly tying area where guests can meet professional fly tyers from all over the world. Visitors can also enjoy talks, presentations and films on all disciplines of fly fishing including screenings of the Fly Fishing Film Tour F3T, which documents first class fly fishing destinations from all over the world. The Shotgun Chef will be providing delicious game offerings throughout the duration of the fair. With international exhibitors from as far afield as Mongolia, South America and Alaska, there is something for all abilities. Don’t miss The Game Fair, Orvis, BASC, Fly Dreamers, Go Fishing Worldwide, Atlantic Salmon Trust, Fishing 4 Schools (Countryside Alliance), Alaska Trophy Adventures, Estancia Laguna Verde Lodge and Frontiers, alongside 70 other specialist exhibitors, fishing destinations and lifestyle brands.

John Hunter, The Game Fair Angling Consultant said “Over the years, fishing has always been an integral part of The Game Fair and I am keen to see this vital area grow once more. The organisers of the London Fly Fishing Fair clearly have a similar strategy to ourselves – as we prepare for our summer event at Hatfield House, just 20 minutes’ train ride from Kings Cross – namely, to bring town and countryside together.

“We are delighted to be attending The London Fly Fishing Fair – which boasts a good number of fly fishing brands and travel destinations – and I cannot wait to see all of these people and discuss the terrific opportunities we have in store this summer. Equally, I know that the visitors will not only have a great time in Islington but will also be excited by the prospect of coming to see the whole countryside in action at The Game Fair in July.”

Joining Orvis UK Ambassador, Marina Gibson, in support of the inaugural event, is James Stokoe, who has also been announced as the latest ambassador for The London Fly Fishing Fair. James is the proud winner of the BBC’s fishing programme and is also an ambassador for the Angling Trust. Be inspired by our experts and find out how you too can unleash a passion for the sport. The Game Fair team talk to Marina and James about their best catch, ideal fishing date and inspiring young people to take up the sport.
