When Can Americans Cruise? These Ships Are Launching

The following ships are scheduled to launch cruises or have already launched them. As of November 1st 2021 (UPCOMING DATES HIGHLIGHTED).

Azamara

The Azamara Quest began seven-day sailings from Greece on August 28th. It was Azamara's first cruises as an independent cruise company.

Vaccines: Required for all passengers.

Carnival Cruise Line

The Carnival Vista launched from Galveston on July 3rd. 

The Carnival Horizon launched from Miami on July 4th.

The Carnival Breeze launched from Galveston on July 15th.

The Mardi Gras launched from Port Canaveral on July 31st.

The Carnival Magic launched from Port Canaveral on August 7th.

The Carnival Sunrise launched from Miami on August 14th.

The Carnival Panorama launched from Long Beach, Calif., on August 21st.

The Carnival Glory was due to relaunch from New Orleans on Septemeber 5th, but Carnival deployed the ship to assist with Hurricane Ida recovery efforts in New Orleans. The ship restarted guest operations on September 19th.

The Carnival Pride launched from Baltimore on September 12th.

The Carnival Dream launched from Galveston on September 19th.

The Carnival Freedom launched from Miami on October 9th .

The Carnival Elation launched from Port Canaveral on October 11th.

The Carnival Valor launched from New Orleans on November 1st.

The Carnival Legend will launch from Baltimore on November 14th. It will replace the Carnival Pride, which moves to Tampa.

The Carnival Radiance will launch from Long Beach, Calif., on December 13th.

The Carnival Conquest will launch from Miami on December 13th.

The Carnival Sensation will launch from Mobile, Ala., in January.

The Carnival Sunshine will launch from Charleston on January 13th. 

The Carnival Liberty will launch from Port Canaveral on on February 11th.

The Carnival Paradise (Tampa) and Carnival Ecstasy (Jacksonville) are slated to launch at undetermined dates in 2022.

Vaccines: Required for adults; a small number of children can sail with negative Covid test. 

Celebrity Cruises

The Celebrity Millennium launched Caribbean cruises from St. Maarten on June 5th. It started Alaska cruises from Seattle on July 23rd.

The Celebrity Apex began Mediterranean cruises from Athens, Greece, on June 19th.

The Celebrity Edge launched sailings from Port Everglades on June 26th.

The Celebrity Silhouette launched sailings from Southampton, U.K., on July 3rd.

The Celebrity Summit launched Alaska cruises from Seattle on July 23rd.

The Celebrity Equinox launched from Port Everglades on July 25th.

In the Galapagos, the Celebrity Flora launched July 4th, the Celebrity Xpedition on July 24th. The Celebrity Xploration launched September 18th.

The Celebrity Beyond is scheduled to embark on its maiden cruise from Southampton, U.K., on April 27th.

Vaccines: Required for adults; children under 18 must produce proof of a negative Covid test. 

Celestyal Cruises

The Crystal and the Olympia in June started Greek Islands cruises from Piraeus, Greece.

Vaccines: Not required

Crystal Cruises

The Crystal Serenity set sail on Bahamas-only itineraries from Nassau on July 3rd.

Crystal Expedition Cruises' Crystal Endeavor sailed its maiden cruise on July 17th.

The Crystal Symphony started sailing Bermuda cruises from Boston on August 22nd. It will then sail Bermuda cruises from New York starting September 24th.

Vaccines: Required for all passengers.

Disney Cruise Line

The Disney Dream resumed 3- and 4-day Castaway Cay cruises from Port Canaveral on August 9th.

The Disney Wonder started cruises from San Diego on October 1st.

Vaccines: Vaccinated guests are exempt from pre-trip and embarkation day testing requirements and travel insurance requirements.

Holland America Line  

The Nieuw Amsterdam launched Alaska sailings from Seattle on July 24th.

The Eurodam launched cruises from Athens on August 15th.

The Zuiderdam launched with a California coast cruise on September 18th.

The Koningsdam launched with a California coast cruise on October 10th.

The new Rotterdam will sail its maiden cruise from Fort Lauderdale on November 3rd.

The Nieuw Statendam will launch Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale on November 21st.

The Noordam will restart in Yokohama, Japan, on March 14th.

The Oosterdam will do a season of Med cruises, restarting in Civitavecchia (Rome) on May 1st.

The Volendam will sail roundtrip Northern Europe cruises from Rotterdam, starting May 1st.

The Westerdam will sail Alaska cruises from Seattle, starting May 8th.

The Zaandam will sail Canada/New England cruises from Boston and Montreal, starting May 12th.

Lindblad Expeditions

The National Geographic Explorer started Iceland sailings on July 7th.

The National Geographic Endeavour II launched Galapagos cruises June 4th.

The National Geographic Quest and the National Geographic Venture launched Alaska cruises on June 5th and June 6th, respectively.

The National Geographic Endurance polar expedition ship sailed its maiden cruise from Iceland on July 22nd.

The National Geographic Resolution maiden cruise is an Antarctica voyage departing Ushuaia, Argentina, on November 17th.

Vaccines: Required for adults; children under 16 must produce proof of a negative Covid test.

MSC Cruises

The MSC Meraviglia returned to sailing Caribbean cruises from Miami on August 2nd.

The MSC Divina began sailing Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral on September 16th.

The new MSC Seashore entered service on August 1st, and will reposition to Miami in the late fall, starting Caribbean cruises on November 20th.

Vaccines: With the Bahamas requiring all cruise passengers ages 12 and older to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 for ships to enter a Bahamas port effective September 3rd, MSC Cruises is requiring passengers to be vaccinated on Florida departures.

Norwegian Cruise Line

The Norwegian Jade launched 7-day cruises from Athenson July 25th.

The Norwegian Encore launched Alaska cruises from Seattle on August 7th.

The Norwegian Gem began sailing from Miami on August 15th.

The Norwegian Epic launched from Barcelona on September 5th.

The Norwegian Getaway launched from Civitavecchia (Rome) on September 13th.

The Norwegian Breakaway sailed from New York on September 26th.

The Norwegian Bliss embarked from Los Angeles on October 24th.

The Norwegian Escape will sail from Port Canaveral on November 13th.

Oceania Cruises 

The Marina launched service August 29th on sailings in Scandinavia and Western Europe.

The Riviera launched from Istanbul on October 18th.

The Insignia will begin December 21st from Miami.

The Sirena will cruise starting January 22nd from Miami.

The Regatta will re-enter service in Tahiti on February 5th.

The Nautica will return April 1st, sailing a Mediterranean cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome).

Princess Cruises

The Majestic Princess launched Alaska cruises from Seattle on July 25th.

The Grand Princess departed Los Angeles on a Mexican Riviera cruise on September 25th.

The Emerald Princess departed Los Angeles on a Panama Canal cruise on October 15th.

The Ruby Princess departed San Francisco on a California coast cruise on October 24th.

The Crown Princess returns November 6th, sailing Panama Canal cruises from Fort Lauderdale.

The Regal Princess will depart Fort Lauderdale on Caribbean cruises, starting November 17th.

The Sky Princess will return November 20th, sailing Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale.

The Caribbean Princess will return November 28th, sailing Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale.

The Enchanted Princess will return November 30th, sailing Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale.

The Island Princess will return to service with a series of cruises to the Caribbean in spring 2022, prior to its 14-day Panama Canal voyage on April 27th.

The Diamond Princess will return with a series of Japan sailings in spring 2022.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises

The Seven Seas Splendor launched service September 11th from Southampton, England.

The Seven Seas Explorer restarted on October 16th from Venice.

The Seven Seas Mariner will sail starting December 18th from Miami.

The Seven Seas Navigator will launch January 6th from Miami.

The Seven Seas Voyager will return in the Mediterranean on February 15th.

Vaccines: Required for all passengers.

Royal Caribbean International

The Freedom of the Seas began service from Miami starting July 2nd.

The Odyssey of the Seas launched from Fort Lauderdale on July 3rd.

The Adventure of the Seas started cruises from Nassau, Bahamas, on June 12th.

The Jewel of the Seas began homeporting from Limassol, Cyprus, on cruises of the Greek islands beginning July 10th.

The Serenade of the Seas began Alaska sailings from Seattle on July 19th.

The Allure of the Seas started cruising from Port Canaveral on August 8th.

The Ovation of the Seas launched Alaska itineraries from Seattle on August 13th.

The Symphony of the Seas started sailing from Miami on August 14th.

The Independence of the Seas began cruising from Galveston on August 15th.

The Harmony of the Seas began sailing from Barcelona on August 15th.

The Mariner of the Seas started sailing from Port Canaveral on August 23rd.

The Oasis of the Seas began sailing Bahamas cruises from Bayonne, N.J., on September 5th.

The Liberty of the Seas launched from Galveston on October 3rd.

The Explorer of the Seas will launch cruises from San Juan on November 7th.

The Navigator of the Seas will sail short getaways from Los Angeles, starting November 19th.

The Grandeur of the Seas will launch sailings from Barbados on December 5th.

The Brilliance of the Seas will launch cruises from Tampa on December 16th.

The Enchantment of the Seas will launch cruises from Baltimore on December 23rd.

The Vision of the Seas will begin sailing from Fort Lauderdale on January 24th.

The Wonder of the Seas will sail its maiden cruise from Fort Lauderdale on March 4th .

The Voyager of the Seas will sail Northern Europe cruises from Barcelona, starting April 15th.

The Radiance of the Seas will sail Alaska cruises from Vancouver, beginning April 29th.

The Rhapsody of the Seas will sail Mediterranean and Greek isles cruises from Civitavecchia (Rome), starting May 23rd.

Vaccines: Varies depending on the port of embarkation.

Seabourn

The Seabourn Odyssey launched Caribbean cruises from Bridgetown, Barbados, on July 18th.

The Seabourn Ovation began operating cruises in Greece and Cyprus from Athens on July 3rd. 

The Seabourn Encore returns to service on February 19th in Lisbon.

The Seabourn Quest will restart in Venice on May 10th.

The Seabourn Sojourn canceled its world cruise departing Los Angeles on January 11th, and will instead depart from Athens on June 6th.

Silversea Cruises

The new Silver Moon launched 10-day cruises from Athens on June 18th.

The Silver Origin started Galapagos Islands cruises June 19th. 

The Silver Muse returned on July 29th, sailing Alaska cruises.

The Silver Shadow started Iceland circumnavigations from Reykjavik on July 30th.

The Silver Spirit returned on September 3rd with a roundtrip Northern Europe cruise from Southampton, U.K.

The Silver Explorer will return on November 10th, sailing a roundtrip Antarctica cruise from Puerto Williams, Chile.

The Silver Cloud is due to set sail on an Antarctica cruise on November 14th from Puerto Arenas, Chile.

The Silver Whisper will return November 17th with a Caribbean sailing from San Juan to Fort Lauderdale.

The Silver Wind is scheduled to depart Puerto Arenas, Chile, on November 20th for a solar eclipse cruise of Antarctica.

Viking

The Viking Orion launched Bermuda sailings from Hamilton in June.

The Viking Sky, homeporting in Reykjavik, started Iceland cruises in June.

The Viking Venus, Viking Sea and Viking Star launched cruises from Valletta, Malta, in July.

Vaccines: Required for all passengers. 

Virgin Voyages

The Scarlet Lady began Caribbean sailings from Miami on October 6th.

The Valiant Lady will debut in the U.K. on March 18th 2022.

Windstar Cruises

The newly stretched Star Breeze sailed from Philipsburg, St. Maarten, and the Wind Star from Athens on June 19th.

The Wind Spirit launched in Tahiti on July 15th.

The Wind Surf launched on August 8th from Barcelona.

Vaccines: required for all passengers.
