Moccamaster celebrates jubilee with a new model in 2018

The milestone of 10.000.000 filter coffee makers has been reached

Technivorm, the manufacturer of Moccamaster, has been designing and manufacturing filter coffee makers and coffee grinders  for almost 50 years, which are handmade in Amerongen. These are internationally loved and recommended. The milestone of 10,000,000 devices has been reached and will be celebrated in 2018 with a limited edition jubilee model: Moccamaster Model 68.

Exactly fifty years after the development and design of the first filter coffee machine made by Technivorm,  Moccamaster launches the new model. A tribute to founder Gerard. C. Smit who designed the original model in 1968.

Managing Director Ina ten Donkelaar: "The revival model fits perfectly with the requirements of the modern consumer. We kept many aspects of the original model and we added, for example, indicator lights and a selector knob for 2-4 and 5-8 cups. The technique ensures that the temperature and flow rate are perfect and the taste of your cup of coffee is always optimal."

Ease of use, quality, durability and reliability are central to the filter coffee makers from Moccamaster. The average lifespan of 20 years is due to the high quality materials and replaceable parts.

The new device has a retro look, designed in Dark Green / Off White.
In the spring of 2018 the Moccamaster Model 68 will be available as a limited edition.

Filter coffee: tasteful, modern and healthy

Filter coffee is the favourite method of brewing coffee in Dutch households, Moccamaster launched a coffee machine on the market in the 1960s, which was new at the time. The appliances have not changed much over the last 50 years, the coffee used to brew a pot of filter coffee has.

The modern filter coffee lovers drink more refined coffees than fifty years ago. To extract the flavours and aromas optimally from the coffee a constant temperature of 92 to 96 degrees is needed, and a flow rate of 4 to 6 minutes.
Filter coffee is softer, less bitter and sour than coffee from brewing methods as a cafetière or espresso. That is not the only advantage, filter coffee also has less cafestol, a substance that has a direct influence on cholesterol levels. So it’s tasty, modern and healthy!
