Ya’ax is centrally located in Mérida, which means that guests are never far away from any of the city’s attractions and lively atmosphere, yet it does not compromise on relaxation and luxury. Once a painter and sculptor’s studio and gallery, the building was restored by artisans and its new contemporary construction successfully combines the atmosphere of the past with the practicality of the present.
 
Ya’ax has 11 luxurious rooms, each reflecting the concept of individualism with which Ya’ax was created. Some rooms are conveniently located close to the pool and others open out onto the glorious wide central terrace for some sunlight and fresh air. All shared spaces, including the pool and sun terrace, are also equally distinct and stylish with a botanical twist. The on-site restaurant Ch’ooj, however, is more of a gastronomic art gallery where guests can watch the talented chefs prepare delightful dishes made form Yucatecan and Caribbean ingredients.
