A Trip to Niagara Falls

By Saadia Sharif

Located on the border of America and Canada, the gorgeous Niagara Falls has been a source of fascination for travellers from across the world. The vastness of the water expands for as far as the eye can see; so beautifully overwhelming that it is almost impossible to comprehend how something so stunning could naturally exist.

One of the best ways to see the waterfall is from the Niagara Skywheel. The observation wheel stretches 53 metres tall to give a bird’s eye view of the falls and the opportunity to marvel at two of the three waterfalls that make up the collective Niagara Falls. This unique perspective offers an incredible view of one of the world’s most famous landforms. As well as this, the privacy of the climate-controlled gondola presents an ideal chance to enjoy the view with loved ones.

The Canadian side of Niagara Falls is home to Queen Victoria Park, which features elegant gardens of flowers in addition to several walkways from which to view Horseshoe Falls. Just a short walk from the Skywheel, the walkways give a level view of the falls that is perfect for photographs.

Not only are the falls are spectacular to see during the day, their beauty is enhanced at night. The Niagara Falls Light Show takes place when darkness falls and illuminates the waterfall through multiple coloured spotlights that are concealed around and along the falls. The vibrant colours intensify the water to give the illusion that a liquid rainbow is cascading down the 188 foot drop. With the gentle mist of the water against the backdrop of the night sky, Niagara Falls is transformed into an even more impressive vision. This captivating light show has been enchanting visitors since 1925, and the combination of the lights and water is breath-taking, making those who observe it feel as though they’re within a fairy-tale dream.
