The paradise that is New Zealand
Have you ever thought of visiting New Zealand? If not, you should. As fast as possible. It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Its biodiversity alone will make you want to take a trip there over and over again.
Not to mention that you cannot possibly explore everything that is worth exploring in just one vacation.
The best part of New Zealand is that it has something to offer to every traveler. Do you like hiking? No problem!
There are plenty of mountains to accommodate your pleasure. Let’s not forget about the lakes and glaciers that are worth exploring. It seems a bit odd that you can find glaciers in the South Pacific, but that just goes to show how diverse the climate and the geography of New Zealand are.
This amazing country even has ways to entertain the most adventurous people. As you may already know, there are active volcanoes in New Zealand. And geysers. Geologically speaking, New Zealand is a hotspot (pun intended). The best place to begin with is Rotorua. You can smell it from miles away. The sulfur is more and more intense as you get closer. The White Island should not be overlooked either. You can see Whakatane there, which is its own natural wonder. The scenery is macabre and mesmerizing at the same time. There is a green crater lake which you will love. Not to mention the smoke plume and the pohutukawa trees. It’s odd how they cling to the volcanic rock.
If you are looking for adrenaline, New Zealand is the best place for this too. Keep in mind that New Zealand has its own extreme activities that you do not really get to experience somewhere else. For example, you can try to fly by wire. It was invented there, and it seems crazy at first sight. But it can be really fun, and no matter how it looks on the outside, it is pretty safe. You can also go abseiling, which seems to be popular these days, or black water rafting.
As you can imagine, with so many islands, New Zealand has numerous beaches. Water sports are available almost everywhere, but if you are looking for some peace and quiet, you can get that too. After all, there are many islands, and not all of them are crowded with locals and tourists.
Flora and fauna are also something that you can enjoy. Obviously, there is the flightless bird called kiwi. You may have heard of it. It is a symbol of New Zealand. Even the people of New Zealand call themselves Kiwis.
Unfortunately, the birdis endangered and can only be spotted in captivity. Even so, you do not get to see it in many other places on earth.
On a more practical note, going to New Zealand may require a visa. Many nationalities are visa exempt. However, if you are not, you must visit the nearest embassy to apply for one. At the same time, 2019 is the year when New Zealand starts issuing Electronic Travel Authorizations for all arrivals by air and by sea. It can be obtained online with a passport.
To be honest, a short article does not do New Zealand justice. It is on many people’s bucket lists, and it should be on yours too. The scenery is breathtaking, the people are incredibly lovely, and the most popular attraction will always be created by nature. You cannot possibly get bored while there, and you will want to go back. And by all means, you should with every single chance you get.
